Tooth Extractions

Oral Surgery

Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, often cause problems for adults.  They are generally fully formed between the ages of 17 and 22.  However, there may not be enough room in the mouth for them.  Wisdom teeth sometimes grow in sideways or cannot make it all the way through the gums.  In these circumstances, they are at risk of becoming infected.  Infections of the wisdom teeth can be quite serious and, in the most extreme cases, require hospitalization and treatment with intravenous antibiotics.

At Hammond Pond Dental Associates, our experienced oral surgeon,

Dr. Kenneth Plisner, is highly skilled at the removal of wisdom teeth and other problematic teeth.  For the comfort of his patients, he provides an option for them to have intravenous sedation to relax them during the surgery.

Dr. Plisner takes a lot of time to talk to his patients, reassure them and answer any questions that they have prior to the surgery. He and our staff will guide you through the entire procedure.

Call us at 617-739-8200 if we can answer any questions about wisdom teeth removal.
